1:1 Therapy

Motherhood doesn’t have to be a struggle.

Therapy offers the gentle, compassionate exploration needed to support you with anything that may be blocking your contentment and enjoyment of your new role.

You have a secret: you regularly feel that being a mother is so much harder than you imagined it would be.

You may even be wondering if there is something wrong with you…

if maybe you’re not cut out to be a mother…

Through therapy you can reach an understanding of how your past experiences are impacting your current thoughts, feelings and relationships, and develop self-compassion.

With the right support you can work through past difficulties, and identify current beliefs and thought patterns which are blocking you from fully experiencing and enjoying being a mother.

This is possible for you, and you deserve the happiness this form of self-care will bring.

If you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Often feeling upset and/or angry without knowing why.

  • Counting down the time to naptime and bedtime so that you can have a break.

  • Disappointment that nobody seems to understand you.

  • Feeling that you have no support.

  • Feeling misunderstood and distant in your relationships with your partner, family and/or friends.

It doesn’t have to be this way. You deserve:

  • For your mothering tasks to feel easier, and to enjoy your days and your new role as a mother.

  • To understand and heal whatever it is that is blocking your fulfilment and joy in your motherhood.

  • To trust that you have your own answers, solutions and truth within you.

  • To enjoy a higher sense of self-worth and really value yourself, not only as a mother, but as the person YOU are.

  • To speak more kindly to yourself and recognise the wonderful job you are doing.

  • To believe that you are the mother your baby needs.

  • To experience more ease, security and happiness in your relationships.

Simply put, you deserve to be happy.

I believe that everybody can benefit from therapy…. and I believe this support is especially beneficial to new or new-again mothers. It is hard to feel good about yourself when you are sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, your home is upside down with laundry EVERYWHERE, and you haven’t washed your hair for days.

Based on my own experience of my transition into motherhood, and my psychotherapy training, I can help you to develop an understanding of matrescence and self-compassion to help you to make sense of your experience and normalise the challenges you are facing.

I will guide you to notice your self-talk, manage your expectations of yourself, and generally be kinder to yourself and recognise your strengths and achievements. I can also offer you practical tips and coping strategies to support you, if you wish.

50-minute sessions are €80.

Appointments are available in-person in Churchtown or Donnybrook, or online.

I was attracted to Marci’s services as she had a keen interest in supporting mothers. I was struggling with the transition to two children and juggling a full-time career. (Through working with Marci) I actually decided to change my career after 24 years. It was the right decision for me and my family but a big decision to process.

I found Marci very understanding, she was able to hold a very supportive space and offered me very insightful feedback. I was able to really explore what was going on and how I could support myself more.
— A., mum to 2 boys under 4

Hi, I’m Marci.

I’m mum to a 10-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, and a psychotherapist. I am passionate about supporting new mothers following my own difficult transition into motherhood. I use my experience and what I have learned so far on my motherhood journey, along with my psychotherapy training, to provide accessible and very practical support to new mothers. You are not alone, and motherhood doesn’t have to be as hard as it feels at the moment.
