Walk, Talk and Coffee

You are doing a great job, Mama, it’s just hard for you to see it sometimes through your exhausted eyes.

I’d love to join you and your baby on your morning walk in your local park (South Dublin) to walk, talk and have a coffee, and to support you to find confidence in yourself in your new role.

You couldn’t wait to be a mum.

To hold your little one in your arms.

To have them smile up at you.

To feel that wholeness and completeness that people told you motherhood brings.

But now you feel more alone than ever. Between the constant crying (sometimes not just your baby’s) and sleepless nights, motherhood is not living up to your expectations and you don’t know where to turn. You need more than a friend, you need someone who has been exactly where you are now and has the tools up their sleeves for you to support yourself and make motherhood memorable in all the right ways.

“I wanted to be a mother so badly, I don’t understand why it’s so hard!”

You weren’t expecting for there to be so many decisions in motherhood,

and for each one of them to feel so monumental.

Are you:

  • Consumed with doubts about doing the "right thing" regarding your baby's feeding, sleeping, and care?

  • Feeling that you don’t stop all day, but are still wondering whether you are “doing enough” for your baby?

  • Wondering how you were able to easily manage very pressurised and busy situations at work and other areas of your life, but why is this so difficult?

What if you could:

  • Feel seen, heard and understood as you share any challenges or concerns you may have on your motherhood journey.

  • Trust that you are the mother your baby needs, and your efforts are more than good enough.

  • Gain the perspective that this feels hard because it is hard, not because there is anything wrong with you.

  • Give yourself credit for how well you are doing on the steepest learning curve you have ever been on.

  • Be happy, relaxed, and feel confident in your decisions.

  • Fully enjoy your baby and your role as a mother.

You CAN learn to tune in to and trust that “mother’s instinct” everyone talks about, instead of listening to the “mean girl” voice that has made an appearance since your baby’s arrival.

Walk, Talk and Coffee sessions are for 60 minutes in your local park (South Dublin).

You set the pace, both of the walk and of our chat. What we discuss will be completely confidential, and will be met with compassion and without judgement, just like in a therapy session.

Based on my own experience of my transition into motherhood, and my psychotherapy training, I can offer you practical tips and strategies to help you if you wish.

You will be guided to notice your self-talk, manage your expectations of yourself, and generally be kinder to yourself and recognise the amazing job you’re doing.

You’ll be supported to understand your inner critic, and gently guide it away from the driver’s seat to a seat further down the back!

You’ll also reap the benefits of fresh air, movement, being in nature, hopefully some Vitamin D, and caffeine (if you wish).

Each session is €80. A 4-session package can be booked for €280, and these sessions can be attended as suits you within 3 months of booking your first session.

If you don’t see a day or time that suits you on the calendar, please contact me, as I have sometimes have flexibility week-to-week.

I was looking specifically for someone who was a mom and could relate to what I was going through as a new parent. I also got your name as a recommendation from another mom friend, so that made me feel even better about reaching out.

I was about 8-9 months postpartum and really struggling with every aspect of becoming a mother - not having time for myself, guilt, resenting my partner... everything. It felt good to feel like I didn’t have to be “put together” around you. I could talk openly about how I felt about my child, my partner, and my family without any judgement... You do such a great job creating a welcoming space and meeting people where they’re at.

Specifically, I benefitted so much from the conversations we had about my own childhood and how it connects with my life as a mom today. Connecting those dots has been invaluable for me and now I’m able to see clearly how I can work WITH my past to create a better future.
— Sarah, mum to a 9-month-old

Hi, I’m Marci.

I’m mum to a 10-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, and a psychotherapist. I am passionate about supporting new mothers following my own difficult transition into motherhood. I use my experience and what I have learned so far on my motherhood journey, along with my psychotherapy training, to provide accessible and very practical support to new mothers.

In those early days of motherhood my daily walks were my lifeline, but I often felt very lonely during them. I would have loved to have somebody who had once felt the way I did to walk with me, listen to me, and support me. That is why it means so much to me now to offer Walk, Talk and Coffee to new mums

You are not alone, and motherhood doesn’t have to be as hard as it feels at the moment.
